Armed herders graze livestock on farmlands in South Darfur
A farmer was injured in the area of Manawshi, South Darfur, by armed herders when he tried to chase their camels off his farmland. Speaking to Radio Dabanga, a colleague reported that on Thursday morning, 31 October, three armed herders wanted to graze their livestock by force on farmlands. They assaulted and robbed the farmers, seriously injuring farmer Abdallah Mohamedein. The farmers appeal to the state and locality authorities to resolve the problem of the herdsmen, so that their “efforts put into farming may not be gone with the wind”. Farmers in the locality of Gereida also complain of herdsmen’s grazing their cattle on the farmlands by force of arms.
