Armed group raids Ban Jedid market
Witnesses suspect perpetrators are affiliated with the governmentThree displaced people were wounded in an attack by an armed group at Ban Jedid market, west of Sirba County (West-Darfur) on Wednesday. Eyewitnesses claim that an armed group riding horses and camels raided the market. They apparently fired bullets heavily in the air, leading to the injury of three displaced people of Ban Jedid camp. The injured were taken to the El-Geneina hospital for treatment. Witnesses added that the militia had started attacking people, raping women and terrorizing the population, especially in farms, without any of the region’s authorities reacting to put an end to their actions. The perpetrators were dressed in military uniforms suspected to belong to the government.
