A relative of the victims reported to Radio Dabanga that at 8 am an Antonov of the Sudanese Air force began circling above the area. “The aircraft then dropped 12 bombs south and west of the area, at a distance of 8 km from Karkego.

“Our relatives tried to flee, but they were not fast enough. Adam Yahya Yagoub (35), Maryam Yousef Ahmed (27), Fatima Omar Haroun (25), Asha Hussein Yahya (17), Abdelmajeed Daoud (12), and Abdelhai Suleiman (7) years were fatally hit by six of the bombs.”

She added that 21 cows, six donkeys, and eight sheep were killed too.
