Al Bashir receives Sudan Dialogue recommendations
President Omar Al Bashir said that the National Dialogue’s societal committees, that kicked off their meetings on 10 October last year, have developed solutions for all problems in Sudan.
During a rally on Monday, President Omar Al Bashir said that the National Dialogue's societal committees, that kicked off their meetings on 10 October last year, have developed solutions for all problems in Sudan. “They blocked the road to the mercenaries,” he said.
Al Bashir officially received the committees' recommendations from the Governor of Khartoum state. These are “orders by the Sudanese people” to him and his government, and “must be implemented”, he said during his speech.
The recommendations include the Governance Affairs committee's proposal for a transitional government chaired by Al Bashir himself.
At the rally, the president accused Sudanese opposition parties, “mercenaries”, of receiving financial support from the U.S. and Israel. Members of the National Consensus Forces alliance of opposition parties still refuse to take part in the dialogue conference before Sudan creates a conducive environment and implements confidence-building measures, that are provided in a roadmap proposed by the African Union mediation team.
Sudan’s First Vice-President, Bakri Hassan Salih called upon the armed rebel movements to join the peace process. The dialogue is the biggest national project to be launched since 60 years, he said, allowing people in Sudan to discuss the national issues and achieve security and stability. Salih addressed the 2015 performance evaluation conference on Monday.
