Air strikes in Buram, South Kordofan

The Sudan People’s Liberation Movement (SPLM) said yesterday the Sudanese air force carried out air raids on seven villages in Buram locality in South Kordofan, wounding three civilians. SPLM spokesman Arnu Ngutulu Lodi said the shelling terrorized citizens causing many to flee. The injured were named as Ahmed Mohamed Bileel, 12, Mirghani Jibril Kuku, 26 and Aisha Kuku Kuku, 85. Lodi told Radio Dabanga that since the start of 2012, 23 people have been killed and 28 wounded by air strikes from Antonov planes and Iranian made Shahab missiles. The spokesman also said the SPLM forces attacked a government convoy on the route from Shifa Hamra and Kevol near Bao locality in Blue Nile state. Lodi said the attack killed three soldiers named as Bela Idris, Ashraf Yacob and Adam Abu Bakr Yousef. He said the SPLM destroyed two Land Cruisers and looted 25 Kalashnikov assault rifles.However Al Hadi Bushara, appointed by President Bashir as the new governor of Blue Nile state said the Sudanese armed forces have managed to take over 95 percent of the territory.
