Abductors demand millionaire ransom for snatched Darfuri traders
Unidentified militiamen who reportedly abducted three market traders in Saraf Omra, North Darfur, are asking for a millionaire ransom for their release.Speaking to Radio Dabanga a source reported that seven militiamen in a Land Cruiser on Sunday afternoon kidnapped three traders at the market of Saraf Omra and took them to unknown destination. The kidnappers contacted relatives of the merchants by phone, telling them that they ask a ransom of SDG1 million ($227,144) for each. The source added that the Omda of the Abbala tribe in Saraf Omra, Hamid Madri, entered into negotiations with the kidnappers. The abducted traders are Ishaq Kilikeit, Abakar Gindo, and Seifeldin Adam.
