Abducted peacekeepers in Darfur confirmed to be Jordanian
The government of Jordan confirmed that two kidnapped police advisors for the African Union – United Nations Mission in Darfur (UNAMID) are Jordanian. The two men were kidnapped Saturday near their residence in Nyala while on their way to catch a shuttle bus to take them to work. The Jordanian Minister of State for Public Information and Communication was quoted by the official news agency “Petra” as saying that the two officers are members of Jordanian Public Security.
