Abbala capture, rape N Darfur displaced for ‘3 consecutive days’
Abbala insurgents abducted a displaced woman on Monday in North Darfur and “repeatedly” raped during the three consecutive days she was held captive, according to a relative. The victim is currently under treatment at a hospital in Saraf Omra. Two militants on camels and one riding a horse, kidnapped the displaced at gunpoint when she was collecting wood to build homes near the Jebel El Jedid camp.The site was established after the eruption of tribal clashes between Abbala and Beni Hussein over control of the Jebel ‘Amer gold mine in North Darfur last January.The victim, 35, was taken to Wadi Bagang in the Birket Seira area, located nine kilometers northeast of Saraf Omra.
