A man threw a shoe at President Bashir. The president was speaking on the podium at the strategic planning conference at the Friendship Hall on Monday morning. The man was in his late forties or fifties and dressed in a neat suit. Such an incident never before happened in political practice in Sudan.
Witnesses said the president was not been hurt. Chairman of Al Sudani newspaper, Mahjoub Erwa told Radio Dabanga that members of the presidential guards immediately scrambled to arrest the shoe thrower who appeared calm and composed.
