9 trucks carjacked in C Darfur, gunmen ask for 32mi ransom each

A total of nine commercial trucks were carjacked in two different incidents in Central Darfur by the same gunmen, witnesses say. Nine vehicles carrying fruits traveling from Golo to Nertiti were ambushed in the area of Burunga by militias riding camels and horses, eyewitnesses said. They told Radio Dabanga the militants seized eight trucks along with their drivers and took them to an unidentified location. The ninth vehicle managed to escape. Militants told the owner of the trucks his vehicles would be released upon a ransom of 32 million Sudanese pounds for each one of them ($7.2mi), sources said.
