700 homes washed away in South Darfur floods
300 acres of plantation land destroyed in Wadi Madiara The number of homes submerged as a result of the flooding of the Wadi Bilal river in Tulus city has risen to 700, an affected resident told Radio Dabanga on Friday. More neighborhoods in the state of South Darfur have been affected, namely Madiara, Eldonky, Hilla, Alashlaq, Zakat , Adaba, al-Muntchar and Ishlaq . Thousands of families have been left without shelter and food. The water has also flooded the banks of the Wadi Madiara river, destroying 300 acres of land with bean and corn plantations. A victim of the floods, appealed for help from humanitarian organizations and government authorities in the form of shelter and food in the city of Tulus. The floods that hit Tulus on Wednesday have been caused by the diversion of the Wadi Bilal.
