42 dead, 24,632 households affected by Sudan rains
The torrential rains and the ensuing flash floods during the past two weeks have resulted in 42 fatalities. The Emergency and Humanitarian Relief Department of the Ministry stated in its daily bulletin of Monday that 42 people lost their life, and 24,632 households have been affected during the current rainy season. The torrents and floods affected 37 localities in 12 Sudanese states to varying degrees. The states of Khartoum, Kassala, River Nile, White Nile, and West Darfur were hit the most. In Kassala State, Governor Mohamed Yousif Adam announced that 3,500 household families were affected by the inundation of the Gash River. The torrents and floods affected 37 localities in 12 Sudanese states to varying degrees. The states of Khartoum, Kassala, River Nile, White Nile, and West Darfur were hit the most.
