25 Darfur students arrested at Khartoum airport
Security authorities arrested 25 students from Darfur upon their arrival at the Khartoum airport on Sunday morning, 20 January, witnesses reported. A source who works at the airport said that a large number of security forces were waiting for the students at the airport’s arrival hall, where they were detained. He told Radio Dabanga that senior officers were pointing at the students, who were among the other arriving passengers, indicating who they would arrest. All of the students were coming from Amman, Jordan’s capital, and most of them were in their twenties, the source pointed out.
