13-year-old gang-raped in North Darfur

Militiamen gang-raped a displaced girl in the area of Liwi in North Darfur on Thursday. Speaking to Radio Dabanga, a relative of the victim said that five gunmen wearing military uniforms and riding on camels, assaulted a group of elderly women, accompanied by the girl. “The women were on their way from the Rwanda camp for the displaced to their farmlands near Liwi village, 5 km from Tawila town,” he explained. “The gunmen gang-raped the girl in front in front of the women, after which they stole their donkeys.” He said that the girl is in shock. “She is not able to eat or drink.” She was transferred to Rwanda camp, where she is being treated with traditional medicines.
